The second phase of EY’s Responsible AI (RAI) Pulse survey, which polled 975 C-suite executives across 21 countries and multiple industries, underscores a strong correlation between mature responsible AI practices and positive financial and operational performance.

Certain sectors, such as technology, media, entertainment, and telecommunications (TMT), are leading in AI governance adoption, with higher rates of principle communication to external stakeholders and established governance bodies overseeing AI ethics and compliance.

However, challenges remain. Many organizations struggle with real-time AI monitoring due to technical complexities and resource demands. The skills gap at board and executive levels also poses a risk, as many leaders are uncertain about which AI risks demand specific safeguards. This disconnect could worsen as generative and agentic AI models become more prevalent in operations.
